History and Background of Destiny Domain Schools

Destiny Domain School ("DDS") was founded in 2017 to provide quality education to the children in the surrounding area who were lacking in this area. Located beside Danjo Kunda behind Koba Kunda Lower Basic School, Koba Kunda, Basse in Upper River Region, The Gambia, the school started with less than one hundred (100) students, ten (10) teaching staff, and two (2) non-teaching staff. Today, the school has grown to over four hundred (400) pupils, twenty-five (25) teaching staff, and ten (10) non-teaching staff with an annex building.

The school offers preparatory nursery, nursery 1 to 2, and basic 1 to 6 classes. At the basic level, each class is divided into a minimum of two classrooms to ensure a conducive environment for the pupils. The school Director is Mr. Emmanuel Okanlawon Alegongo, and the Proprietress is Mrs. Gladys Alegongo. Each campus has its Head Teacher; the Main campus Headteacher is Mr. Ismail Arowolo, and the Annex campus Head Teacher is Mr. Dimeji Alegongo.

The school boasts competent and qualified teachers, including some from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Liberia with first-degree certificates in various fields. Indigenous teachers have also contributed to the growth of the school. The school has not yet reached its full potential but has made significant progress.

Destiny Domain School is known for its unique ability to transform the lives of pupils within a limited time. Over two hundred (200) pupils, both graduates and current students who previously could not read and write, have now achieved these skills thanks to the qualified and competent teachers available in the school across various grades. The teachers are effective when it comes to teaching and learning, and the preparatory nursery and nursery teachers are particularly friendly and make school fun for the pupils. The school and its teachers are committed to seeing pupils excel academically even after they have been promoted to the next grade.
